This video found its way into my email box from Linda Lewis. It’s about a “kinetic sculpture by a man named Theo  Jansen.

When I watched it, I felt better about all the time I’ve frittered away on projects which have no productive purpose but which give my soul a lift.  This blob is an example, and your interest and comments and contributions – have given it a life of its own, kind of like that of the creature in the video.

If you haven’t seen this video yet, the sculpture you’re about to see depicts exactly what I mean.  It may not serve a utilitarian function in life, but it’s fascinating to watch it in action.
